Top Institute Pharma (TI Pharma) has named Willem de Laat as managing director from 1 January 2008. He will replace Victor J. Nickolson, the founding director, who is retiring. Dr Nickolson was responsible for putting the institute’s research programmes in place in the two years from its establishment in July 2006. TI Pharma is a research collaboration betweeen industry and academia aimed at finding ways to improve the drug development process.
Dr de Laat was, until recently, executive vice president for medical affairs and quality at Organon.
