Evotec SE has appointed Joanna Holbrook as chief scientific officer effective on 1 November. With more than 25 years of experience as both a scientist and R&D leader, Dr Holbrook will lead Evotec's global scientific strategy and drive differentiation across its drug discovery and preclinical development, technology platforms and proprietary innovation. Dr Holbrook was most recently a senior executive at Novo Nordisk A/S including as head of in vitro discovery platforms. Previously she was CSO at Biomodal and vice president, translational medicine at BenevolentAI.
Her academic career included professor of bioinformatics at the University of Southampton, UK and senior principal investigator at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences. Dr Holbrook holds a PhD in molecular cell biology from University College London, UK.
Evotec announced the appointment on 15 October 2026.
