AL-S Pharma AG has appointed Harry Welten as chief executive officer to bring the Swiss biotechnology company’s lead asset into a confirmatory Phase 3 clinical trial. He succeeds Michael Salzmann. Mr Welten brings more than 25 years’ experience as chief financial officer and chairman in the life sciences industry in Europe and the US, with a track record of securing financing and partnerships to advance clinical programmes. As chairman, Mr Welten guided Biognosys, Aidence and Proteomedix to their sale or merger with Nasdaq-listed companies. He is currently chairman of b-rayZ AG and a board member of Lumendi AG. AL-S Pharma is developing human antibodies that target misfolded proteins implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
