Brian Collins has been appointed chief scientific advisor to the UK Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, effective 12 May 2008.
The department is an advocate for UK businesses, both domestically and abroad. Mr Collins is professor of information systems at the Defence College of Management and Technology, Cranfield University. He has also held senior positions at Clifford Chance and the Wellcome Trust.
