Simon Jose, senior vice president and general manager of GlaxoSmithKline UK, is set to become president of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) on 28 April 2010. He will succeed Chris Brinsmead of AstraZeneca, and will serve for one year with the option of occupying the position for a further 12 months. Mr Jose leads the UK pharmaceuticals business of GSK and has been a member of the ABPI Board of Management since May 2008.
