Pierre Fabre appoints Olivier Bohuon as CEO

The Pierre Fabre Group of France has appointed Olivier Bohuon, executive vice president of the Abbott Corporation and president of the company’s pharmaceutical division, as its new chief executive officer, replacing Jean-Pierre Garnier. The appointment takes effect on 1 September 2010.

Mr Garnier, the former chief executive of GlaxoSmithKline, previously announced his intention to leave Pierre Fabre. Mr Bohuon, who holds a doctor of pharmacy, has also been president of European operations at Abbott and president of Abbott International. Prior to this, he held executive positions at Glaxo France, at SmithKline Beecham Laboratories and later at GSK itself.
