Pierre Delsaux takes new position at the European Commission

Pierre Delsaux, a Belgian national with many years of experience in policy formulation and execution, has moved from defence to health at the European Commission to take up the new position of deputy director-general for health. This division is responsible for EU policy on food safety and health and for monitoring the implementation of the related legislation. Mr Delsaux holds a master’s degree in law from Northwestern University in Chicago, US and has held numerous senior positions within the Commission largely covering the internal market, industry and entrepreneurship.

The Commission announced the appointment on 24 November 2020.
