Oculis Holding AG has appointed Mark Kupersmith as chief medical advisor, neuro-ophthalmology and Sebastian Wolf as chief medical advisor, ophthalmology, as the Swiss-based company advances its late-stage clinical pipeline. The appointments follow positive Phase 2 results with a treatment, privosegtor, for acute optic neuritis, with potentially broad applications in neuro-ophthalmic and neurological diseases. Oculis also is advancing retina programmes including eye drops for diabetic macular oedema. Dr Kupersmith, a neuro-ophthalmologist with 40 years’ experience, helped design and conduct the first major treatment trial for acute optic neuritis. Dr Wolf, a retina and imaging expert, is professor of ophthalmology, managing director of the Bern Photographic Reading Center, Switzerland.
