Germany-based CPTx GmbH has appointed Edward Rebar as its new chief scientific officer and David Maier as chief business officer as the company advances its in vivo CAR T therapy programmes using single-stranded DNA vector technology. Dr Rebar has more than 30 years of experience developing and translating cell engineering technologies. He most recently served as chief technology officer at Sana Biotechnology Inc in Seattle, US, were he led development of technologies for scalable editing of T cells and stem cells for the company’s oncology, autoimmunity and diabetes programmes. Mr Maier joined CPTx in August 2025 to lead the company’s manufacturing and services unit.
