Asklepios BioPharmaceutical Inc, a gene therapy subsidiary of Bayer AG, has appointed Mansuo Shannon as chief scientific officer to head the company’s R&D unit and drive the discovery and development of its gene therapies. Dr Shannon succeeds AskBio’s co-founder R. Jude Samulski who will remain a board member. With over 16 years of pharmaceutical and biotech experience, Dr Shannon joins AskBio from Prevail Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Co, where she was CSO. She holds a PhD in molecular biology from Princeton University, US.
