MitoRx Therapeutics Ltd has appointed Alison Strutt as chief financial officer, László Tankó as consultant chief medical officer and Sam Fazeli as a non-executive director. The executives will support strengthening MitoRx’s clinical, operational and strategic capabilities as the company advances its lead obesity asset, MTRX31, into clinical development.

Dr Strutt joins from NodThera, where she was chief operating officer and supported multiple financing rounds raising more than $250 million.  She is a chartered accountant and holds a PhD in chemistry and physical chemistry from the University of Cardiff, UK.

Dr Tankó joins from SixPeaks Bio, an obesity company acquired by AstraZeneca in November 2025, where he was CMO. Previously, at Novartis, he led the clinical development of bimagrumab in muscle-wasting conditions, which was later recognised for its potential in obesity and muscle preservation. Dr Tankó is an MD and holds a DMSc in obesity and cardiometabolic research from Danish universities.

The new board member is director of research, global industries at Bloomberg Intelligence. MitoRx’s lead asset targets resetting mitochondrial function rather than suppressing appetite.

MitoRx Therapeutics announced the appointments on 9 June 2026.
