Mission Therapeutics appoints senior managers

Mission Therapeutics Ltd, which is developing small molecule drugs for neurodegenerative disorders, has promoted Paul Thompson to the position of chief scientific officer, and Nick Edmunds to chief technology officer. The two executives joined Mission in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Dr Thompson was previously clinical science director at ONO Pharma UK and before that director of discovery medicine in neurology at GlaxoSmithKline Plc.

Dr Edmunds previously worked at AstraZeneca Plc helping manage drug safety and metabolism and before that, he was a research fellow at Pfizer Inc.

Dr Thompson holds a PhD in immuno and cell biology from University College London while Dr Edmunds secured a PhD from the department of pharmacology at the University of Bath, both in the UK.

Mission Therapeutics announced the appointments on 4 August 2020.
