Martine Clozel nominated to be CSO at Actelion

Martine Clozel, senior vice president and co-head of drug discovery at Actelion Ltd, has been nominated to the new position of chief scientific officer at the Swiss company. Ms Clozel is a co-founder of Actelion.

A pediatrician specialising in neonatal intensive care, Dr Clozel received her MD degree from Nancy University in France and received further training in physiology and pharmacology from McGill University, Montreal, and the University of California, San Francisco.

Prior to co-founding Actelion, she was a researcher at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd where she initiated the project on endothelin and endothelin receptor antagonists which lead to the discovery and clinical development of bosentan (Tracleer), Actelion’s lead product.
