Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV, formerly known as Galapagos, has appointed Eric Hedrick as chief medical officer in support of the company’s strategic transformation following its acquisition of Ouro Medicines’ operational assets announced on 4 June. With the Ouro portfolio now the cornerstone of the R&D pipeline at Lakefront, Dr Hedrick will guide the development of clinical programmes including gamgertamig, a T cell engager targeting autoimmune diseases.
He joined Lakefront in July 2025 as clinical evaluation lead for new pipeline opportunities. Previous roles included chief executive physician at EQRx, interim CMO for BeiGene and CMO at Epizyme. Dr Hedrick received his MD from the University of Maryland and was previously an attending physician at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, both US.
