Jazz Pharmaceuticals Plc, a global biopharmaceutical company, promoted Renée Galá, chief financial officer, to president and chief operating officer effective 1 October. She succeeds Dan Swisher who is retiring. Ms Galá joined Ireland-based Jazz Pharmaceuticals as CFO in March 2020 with more than 20 years of broad experience in the life sciences sector including at GRAIL, Theravance Biopharma and Eli Lilly and Co. She serves on the board of Gossamer Bio, where she chairs the audit committee and previously served on the boards of Corcept Therapeutics and Gyroscope Therapeutics. Ms Galá holds a bachelor of science in mathematics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Columbia Business School, both US.
