GlaxoSmithKline Plc has announced that James Murdoch will become a non-executive director and will join the board on 20 May 2009. On appointment, Mr Murdoch will also become a member of GSK’s corporate responsibility committee. Mr Murdoch is chairman and chief executive of News Corporation Europe and Asia.
GSK also announced that Ian Prosser and Ronaldo Schmitz will retire from the board on 20 May.
