Hans Joachim Bochtler has been appointed vice president of clinical research and development at MediGene, the German biopharmaceutical company. Dr Bochtler was most recently chief scientific officer of Fresenius Biotech GmbH. He replaces Axel Mescheder, who was appointed executive board member for research and development in May 2008.
Dr Bochtler is a medical doctor and biopharmaceutical industry executive, having worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb GmbH, Smith Kline Beecham Pharma GmbH and at Amgen GmbH.
Based in Munich Germany, MediGene focuses on the development drugs for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases.
