Guillaume Jetten has been appointed chief financial officer of the Belgium-based drug discovery company, Galápagos NV, effective 1 July 2009. He succeeds Leo Steenbergen, who is leaving the company.
Mr Jetten was most recently CFO of the Dutch publishing group, SDU Holding BV and before that, CFO of Wolters Kluwer Health in Chicago. Mr Jetten holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands and is a certified registered accountant.
Separately, Galápagos’s shareholders have approved the appointment of Werner Cautreels to its board of directors. Mr Cautreels is the global chief executive of Solvay Pharmaceuticals, based in Brussels, Belgium.
