FundaMental Pharma GmbH, a preclinical-stage biopharmaceutical, has appointed Hans Eriksson as chief medical officer to advance the German company’s lead treatment-resistant depression (TRD) candidate. Dr Eriksson has more than 25 years of clinical development experience and has contributed to eight late-phase programmes in depression, three of which resulted in regulatory approvals.
Most recently he was CMO at HMNC Brain Health, where he led the clinical development of Ketabon, and previously was CMO at Compass Pathways where he led the clinical development of psychedelic treatment, psilocybin, for TRD. Dr Eriksson has an MD and PhD from Lund University and an executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics, both in Sweden. He has a clinical background as a consultant psychiatrist working with patients with depression and schizophrenia.
