Evotec SE has appointed a former AstraZeneca executive Rui Wang as executive vice president, head of global in silico and AI to drive the integration of computational science and data-driven decision-making across Evotec’s R&D. Mr Wang most recently was head of data, analytics and AI at AstraZeneca, where he held roles of increasing responsibility for more than a decade. Prior positions included at The European Bioinformatics Institute.
The goal of the position at Evotec is to create solutions that ensure AI and in silico science become key commercial pillars and enhance the value of Evotec’s core business of drug discovery and preclinical development. Mr Wang holds MSc degrees in bioinformatics from the University of Manchester and in system design for internet applications from Newcastle University, both UK.
Evotec announced the appointment on 2 June 2026.
