Engitix Ltd has appointed Sonia Quaratino as EVP and chief medical officer. Dr Quaratino has been an independent non-executive director at Engitix since 2023 and her appointment strengthens leadership as the company advances its pipeline of extracellular matrix, ECM-targeting therapeutics towards the clinic. With more than 35 years of experience, Dr Quaratino brings expertise in immunology, clinical development and translational science combining scientific depth and corporate leadership.
Most recently she was EVP CMO at Innate Pharma, and prior to that CMO of Georgiamune Inc and Kymab where she oversaw the development of pipeline value that culminated in Kymab’s acquisition by Sanofi. Senior positions at Novartis and Merck followed an academic career as Professor of Immunology at the University of Southampton, UK. Dr Quaratino has a PhD in immunology from Imperial College London, UK.
