The EB Research Institute (EBRI) has established a strategic advisory board to support EBRI's work to translate scientific discoveries into treatments for epidermolysis bullosa (EB). The board is chaired by Martin Laimer, an internationally recognised expert in EB. He is professor of dermatology and deputy head of the department of dermatology and allergology at University Hospital Salzburg, Austria.

Other board members include Peter Llewellyn-Davies, president of Biotech Austria; Bernd Muehlenweg, a leader in biotech and pharmaceutical business development; Daniela Schoegl, an intellectual property and patent attorney; Barbara Wolff-Winiski, a translational scientist and biotechnology entrepreneur; and Professor Annemarie Weissenbacher, rector of Paracelsus Medical Private University Salzburg. EBRI is a joint venture between DEBRA Austria and SALK (Salzburger Landeskliniken).
