Transgene SA, a developer of virus-based immunotherapies against cancer, has appointed Simone Steiner as chief technical officer to focus on improving the manufacturing process for individualised neoantigen therapeutic vaccines. She will also be involved in the development of potential new candidates, and in a second clinical study planned to start in Q4 2025. Dr Steiner was previously chief technical operating officer at T-knife Therapeutics, a developer of T cell receptor engineered T cell therapies, where she led technical development and manufacturing. She was also head of technical development and manufacturing at Tigen, Switzerland, and spent over ten years at Novartis. Dr Steiner holds a master’s degree in biochemistry and a PhD from ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
Transgene announced the appointment on 1 April 2025.
