CellaVision AB has appointed Steve Ferguson as chief executive officer, succeeding Simon Østergaard, who will remain in place during a handover transition period. Mr Ferguson brings over 25 years’ experience in biotechnology with a strong commercial focus, as CellaVision seeks stronger growth in its the current portfolio and the commercialisation of the innovation portfolio.
Most recently, Mr Ferguson was CEO of Medix Biochemica and previously was vice president of European operations at ThermoFisher Scientific’s ImmunoDiagnostics Division. He holds a degree in business from Queen’s University Belfast, UK. CellaVision, based in Sweden, develops and sells its systems for routine analysis of blood and other body fluids in health care services. It has expertise in sample preparation, image analysis, artificial intelligence and automated microscopy.
