Crucell NV said that Cees de Jong, its chief operating officer, has been nominated for the company’s management board with responsibility for overseeing a review of Crucell’s business with a goal of reducing non R&D costs by 15% by the end of 2009. Dr de Jong has been COO since September 2007.
Prior to joining Crucell, he was a member of the board of Quest International, a flavour and fragrances group, and before that, managing director of DSM Anti-Infectives. Dr de Jong holds a medical degree and a master of business administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
