C4X Discovery Holdings Plc has promoted Nick Ray to the role of chief scientific officer to lead small molecule drug discovery across multiple disease areas. In this position, he will help advance the company’s discovery portfolio from target selection, to the generation of pre-clinical drug candidates and to partnering. Dr Ray joined C4X Discovery in 2016. Previously, he held management positions at Rhône-Poulenc, now Sanofi SA; Celltech Group, now UCB SA; and Charles River Laboratories. He holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Birmingham, UK, and is a named inventor on more than 75 patents and patent applications.
