Anderson Gaweco, an immunologist with academic and industry experience, has joined APEIRON Biologics AG as chief medical and scientific officer. In this role he will oversee the discovery and clinical development of new therapies for cancer. Dr Gaweco joins the Vienna, Austria-based company from Innovimmune Biotherapeutics Inc in the US where he led immuno-oncology and autoimmune therapeutic programmes. He has also held senior positions at Roche, Pfizer Inc and AstraZeneca Plc.
Dr Gaweco received his MD and PhD in immunology and obtained his residency in pathology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg, Germany.
