Vicente Anido Jr, an industry executive and venture capitalist, has been nominated to the board of Nicox SA of France which is building a portfolio of ophthalmic therapies and diagnostic tools. Dr Anido is the former chief executive of ISTA Pharmaceuticals, a US-based ophthalmic pharmaceutical company which was acquired by Bausch + Lomb in 2012. Prior to this, he was general partner of Windamere Venture Partners. Dr Anido received a BS in pharmacy and an MS in pharmacy administration from West Virginia University and a PhD in pharmacy administration from the University of Missouri. His appointment is expected to be confirmed at a shareholders’ meeting on 6 June.
Nicox announced the appointment on 26 April 2013.
