Belgium-based Galapagos NV has appointed Andrew Dickinson as a non-executive, non-independent director to its board. Mr Dickinson is chief financial officer of Gilead Sciences Inc which is a major shareholder in the company. He succeeds Daniel O’Day, chief executive of Gilead, who joined the Galapagos board in 2019 in connection with a business collaboration between the two companies. Mr Dickinson joined Gilead in 2016 and was head of corporate development and strategy before becoming CFO. He holds a doctor of law from Loyola University Chicago, US.
