Rolf Stahel, a former chief executive of Shire Plc, has been appointed chair of Midatech Ltd which designs and manufactures nanoparticles. Mr Stahel is currently the non-executive chairman of Connexios Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, an Indian drug discovery company. He has been the non-executive chair of a number of European pharmaceutical companies including Newron Pharmaceuticals SpA.
Midatech also announced the appointment of Craig Cook, formerly of SpaceCode Technologies, as its chief operating officer and chief medical officer.
