Ian Gilham, formerly chief executive of Axis-Shield Plc, has been appointed chairman of the board of directors at Multiplicom NV, a developer of molecular genetic tests. Before joining Axis-Shield, Dr Gilham was vice president of pharmacogenetics at GlaxoSmithKline Plc where he was responsible for the delivery of pharmacogenetic tests as well as novel diagnostics. He has also held general management, marketing, business development and R&D positions at Abbott Laboratories, Celltech Group Plc (now UCB SA) and Amersham Plc (now
GE Healthcare).
