Gerard van Odijk, an independent advisor to the pharmaceutical industry, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Bavarian Nordic A/S. Dr van Odijk, who has been serving on the board since 2008, will succeed Asger Aamund as chair. Anders Gersel Pedersen, executive vice president of research and development at H. Lundbeck A/S, has been elected deputy chairman.
Dr van Odijk retired as chief executive of Teva Pharmaceuticals Europe BV in 2012 and previously held a number of senior positions at GlaxoSmithKline Plc.
Bavarian Nordic announced the appointment on 24 April 2014.
