Amarna Therapeutics BV of the Netherlands has appointed Henk Streefkerk as chief executive officer and medical director to lead development of its platform for the development of multiple-dose gene therapies for genetic and idiopathic diseases. He succeeds Steen Klysner, the previous CEO. Dr Streefkerk was chief medical officer and co-founder of Rivia, a Swiss data analytics company, and CMO at PIQUR Therapeutics AG, an oncology drug developer. He received both MD and PhD degrees from Utrecht University, the latter in neurovascular surgery.
Amarna Therapeutics announced the appointment on 7 June 2023.
