Tomas Salmonson, acting chair of the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), has been elected chair. His term is for three years. A pharmacist by training, Dr Salmonson is currently a senior scientific advisor at the Swedish Medical Products Agency. He has been a member of the CHMP for more than 12 years.
The EMA announced the appointment on 17 September 2012.
