Thomas Hecht has been appointed non-executive director at Cell Medica Ltd, the London-based cellular therapeutics company. Dr Hecht has a background in haematology, oncology and internal medicine and will help guide the launch of the company’s pan-European marketing strategy for its lead product, Cytovir CMV. Dr Hecht has worked as a biotech consultant and was instrumental in the growth of Amgen in the 1990s. In addition to this new role at Cell Medica, he continues as chairman at Delenex Therapeutics AG, Cytos Biotechnology AG and Affimed Therapeutics AG. The appointment was announced on 13 October, 2010.
