Actelion Ltd of Switzerland has nominated Michael Jacobi, former chief financial officer at Ciba Specialty Chemicals Inc, as a member of its board of directors. Dr Jacobi will replace Andre J. Mueller who is retiring. Dr Jacobi received a PhD in business administration from the University of St Gallen in Switzerland and studied management at the Harvard Business School.
Actelion is also asking its shareholders to approve the addition of two new members to the board. They are Joseph C. Scodari, former pharmaceutical chair and member of the executive committee of Johnson & Johnson, and Elias A. Zerhouni, former director of the US National Institutes of Health.
