UCLH appoints chief executive

University College London Hospitals has appointed Marcel Levi as its chief executive, effective 3 January 2017. He will replace the current CEO, Robert Naylor, who is retiring on 30 September.

Professor Levi was previously chairman of the executive board of the Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam which is one of the largest hospital and research institutions in the Netherlands. He studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam and in 1991 obtained his PhD and was appointed a fellow of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science. He is a practising consultant, specialising in haemostasis and thrombosis.

The appointment was announced on 13 July 2016.
