Sandford Sommer, a veteran manager at AstraZeneca Plc, has joined Vernalis Plc as president and chief operating officer to help oversee the company’s expansion as a specialty pharmaceutical company. Mr Sommer worked for AstraZeneca for 24 years, most recently as president of the company’s operations in Colombia. He has also served on the board of UK Colombia Trade, a business network, for the last two years.
Vernalis announced the appointment on 21 April 2016.
