Metrion Biosciences Ltd, an ion channel specialist which provides services to the biopharma industry, has promoted two of its senior executives. Robert Kirby has been named chief operating officer, having previously been director of operations, and Edward Stevens becomes chief scientific officer, having been director of drug discovery. Dr Kirby oversaw the recent relocation of the company’s headquarters to a larger site and recruited more staff. Prior to joining Metrion, he was a principal scientist at Xention Ltd, also an ion channel drug specialist. Dr Stevens has been leading strategic collaborations for Metrion. He joined the company from Ario Pharma Ltd, a developer of drugs for respiratory indications, where he was CSO.
Metrion announced the appointments on 6 July 2023.
