Kurt von Emster, a life science entrepreneur and investor, will join Abingworth LLP on 5 January 2015 as a partner based in the company’s office in Menlo Park, California. He will help source and manage deals in early and late-stage venture capital, venture growth and public market investments.
Mr von Emster holds a bachelor of science degree in business and economics and has worked as a biotechnology and healthcare analyst and portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton. Most recently, he was a partner in the San Francisco office of venBio, a US investment firm which he co-founded in 2009.
Abingworth announced the appointment on 5 December 2014.
