Jonathan Knowles, a former executive at Roche, has become executive chairman of Adaptimmune Ltd, a T cell therapy company based in Oxford, UK. Dr Knowles was also recently appointed executive chairman of Adaptimmune’s sister company, Immunocore. Immunocore is developing T-cell receptor technology. Dr Knowles was formerly president of group research and a member of the executive committee at F. Hoffman-La Roche. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Helsinki in Finland, holds a visiting chair at the University of Oxford, and is a visiting scholar of Pembroke College, Cambridge.
Adaptimmune announced the appointment on 29 November 2013.
