Lewis Lanier, an expert on natural killer (NK) cells, has joined the scientific advisory board of Mendus AB in Sweden to help guide development of immunotherapies that address tumour recurrence. Dr Lanier is professor emeritus in microbiology and immunology at the University of California, San Francisco, US. He is recognised for his contributions to the characterisation of how NK cells distinguish between healthy cells and infected or cancerous cells. Dr Lanier has published more than 400 scientific articles and is a senior editor of the Journal of Experimental Medicine.
Mendus announced the appointment on 20 June 2023.
