Jerry Randall appointed chairman of Silence Therapeutics

Jerry Randall, currently an independent director of Silence Therapeutics Plc, has been appointed chairman of the company to replace Iain Ross who has resigned as both chairman and a director of the board.

Mr Randall has been chief financial officer of Sinclair Pharmaceuticals Plc. Prior to this, he worked in corporate finance with Gambit Corporate Finance. Mr Ross joined Silence Therapeutics in 2004 and oversaw the company’s acquisition of Atugen AG a year later, making the company a European leader in RNA interference technology. He also managed the company’s merger in late 2009 with Intradigm Corp of the US.

Resigning with Mr Ross is Melvyn Davies, the company’s chief financial officer. Silence Therapeutics said that it is recruiting a new CFO.
