Cellzome Ltd of Cambridge, UK and Heidelberg, Germany, has appointed Tony Kouzarides, a leader in the field of epigenetics, to its scientific advisory board. Dr Kouzarides is a professor at the University of Cambridge and a member of the science strategy advisory group for Cancer Research UK.
In addition, Peter Machin, a pharmaceutical industry veteran, has also been appointed to the board. Mr Machin has held senior positions at Roche, SmithKline Beecham and most recently, GlaxoSmithKline where he was global senior vice president of discovery research chemistry. The appointments follow Cellzome’s announcement earlier this year of a major collaboration with GSK in the field of epigenetics as applied to immuno-inflammatory disease.
