Swedish Orphan Biovitrum lets go its chief executive

Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (formerly Biovitrum AB) has let go its chief executive, Martin Nicklasson, and has begun a search for a new chief executive. In the meantime, Kennet Rooth, head of sales and marketing, will act as interim CEO.

A press release said that the board and Mr Nicklasson agreed that new leadership is desired for the company.

SOBI has seen many changes since it was spun off from Pharmacia Corp in 2001. The latest change came when it acquired Swedish Orphan International Holding AB in January 2010 and changed its name to Swedish Orphan Biovitrum in June from Biovitrum to reflect the fact that it is now concentrating of products for rare diseases.
