Gert-Jan Renardel de Lavalette has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer at OncoMethylome Sciences SA effective 2 February 2009. He will focus on the development and commercialisation of the company’s molecular diagnostics products.
Mr Renardel has held management positions at Schering-Plough and Akzo Nobel during his more than 20 years in the diagnostics and pharmaceutical industries.
Separately, Gerard Vaillant, a veteran pharmaceutical industry executive, is scheduled to join OncoMethylome’s board of directors on 19 February, replacing Christian Schneider who is leaving to spend more time on a new European life sciences venture capital fund.
