The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), a global non-profit organisation that supports the development of vaccines against HIV, has appointed Margaret McGlynn as its president and chief executive officer, replacing Seth Berkley, the organisation’s founding president and CEO.
Ms McGlynn was previously president of global vaccines and anti-infectives at Merck & Co. She has also been a member of the board and of the executive committee of the GAVI Alliance which promotes access to vaccines in the developing world. She recently helped assemble a report that advised the Obama Administration and Congress on global health policy.
