Christine Durinx, fomer executive director of the SIB Swiss Institute for Bioinformatics, has joined the VIB (Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie) in Belgium to work alongside Jérôme Van Biervliet, also co-managing director. A native of Belgium, she joins the institute as it starts a new five-year government funding cycle with a focus on data science and personalised health. Dr Durinx holds a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
