Amarin Corporation Plc, the Irish-American specialist in cardiovascular disease, has given its chairman, Joseph Zakrzewski, a second job as chief executive officer, following the resignation of Colin Stewart as president and chief executive for personal reasons. Mr Zakrzewski, until recently, was the CEO of Xcellerex Inc, a private Massachusetts-based biotechnology company. He joined Amarin in January 2010.
Amarin also announced that John Thero, who has been the company’s chief financial officer, will assume the job of president. Prior to joining Amarin, Mr Thero was CFO at ViaCell Inc.
