Switzerland-based Primex Pharmaceuticals Ltd has promoted Alan Knox to the role of chief executive, succeeding Kari Sarvanto, the company’s founder. Mr Knox has been head of global marketing since joining the company in 2016. Prior to this, he was head of global portfolio strategy at Merck Sharp & Dohme in the US and Switzerland.
Earlier in his career he held managing director positions with AstraZeneca Plc in the Philippines and with Sandoz in Poland.
Primex produces anaesthesia products and is expanding into paediatric pharmaceuticals.
Primex announced the appointment on 5 February 2019.
